Astonishing - Soderling, Dethroned - Nadal

Rafa defeated
Gone in the wind!

Well done Soderling! You have done us good! Nadal is unstoppable before but now he is STOPPED! The World Number 1, Rafael Nadal has been beaten by Swedish Robin Soderling. The result was 6-2, 6-7, 6-4, 7-6. Great match!

Now, Federer has the chance to clinch his first French Grand Slam which the only one eluded from his trophy cabinet!

Rafael Nadal
More agony! Adios!

Updates for myself

Dear readers,

Thank you for dropping by to read on the previous posts. I am aware that I have not been updating about myself recently. I have been more 'busy' updating the French Open 2009 daily. Yeah, that's what I have been doing lately.

Besides that exams aren't over yet! 2 more papers and the next will be on this Wednesday. Horrific! Sensors module isn't easy at all. S**T! Engaging on the act of multi-tasking isn't tough at all. Hehe. Watching Roland Garros and study. Who say it is hard? Like 99% on TV rather study.

I hope that you all won't be bored of my posts of Roland Garros tennis updates in recent weeks. hang on for more stuff to be posted!

Roland Garros - Day 7 (30/5/2009)

Roger Federer survived an early scared. Losing his first set 4-6 in the match against Frenchman Paul-Henri Matheu. However, he made a comeback by winning the match impressively 6-1, 6-4, 6-4.

Roland Garros - Day 5 (28/5/2009)

Roger Federer played his 2nd Round match on Day 5. Amazing victory for the 2nd seed. A win over Argentine Jose Acasuso after both rallied to win the 2nd round encounter which saw Federer came out top. The result was 7-6, 5-7, 7-6, 6-2.

In the next round, Federer will face France Paul-Henri Mathieu on course to win his first French Open Grand Slam.

Quoted from the great Swiss;

“Of course, I’m thrilled to be through,” said Federer, who saved four set points in the first tiebreaker. “It was sort of a fun match to be part of with so many ups and downs."

On th women's court now 29/5/2009, Ana Ivanovic is playing now! (10.26am of GMT+0). She's leading 4-0 in her first set against Iveta Besenova. :D

Facebook

What do you think? Friendster or MySpace? No! Facebook! They are evaluated at $10 billion which is more than Starbucks. Can you imagine that? You don't sell coffee to be evaluated that much. Just digital advertisement on the world wide web. And the best thing is the world wide web is not even physically available. How amazing that this social website which is created by Mark Zuckerberg (Harvard graduate programmer), can earn that much respect and investment from around the world. Mircrosoft had invested initially and now more and more investors are pouring in money (some would say in terms of preferred stocks). Most recently, it was a Russian company, Digital Sky Technologies.

Despite the economic slump, Facebook's revenue jumped impresively by 70% this year. By 2010, the company is planning on profits. No matter how the economic weather would be in the next few years, the amazing growth in terms of users in millions would provide a perfect profitable campaign for the start of new fiscal year.

Nonetheless, I am impressed of the power of the world wide web these days. You can't just ignore the presence in our own physical world. Physical billboards are out of date? No! They are still as effective but not in terms of cost. What are the cost of one advertisement on the web? I don't think you would want to know. Number of users are growing exponentially in the world wide web. And Why Would We Want To Ignore Them? Think about it!

Roland Garros - Day 2 (25/5/2009)

The usual suspects, Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer won their respective matches. It was an initial difficult route for Nadal as his opponent, Marcos Daniel gave him a tough time in his first set. At the end, it was Nadal's win by 7-5, 6-4, 6-3.

Spotting a pink outfit?

Roger Federer won his match by 6-4, 6-3, 6-2 against Alberto Martin from Spain. He will meet Argentine Jose Acasuso in the next round.

Running for the ball!

Forehand serve from Federer

For the women's, Ana Ivanovic did not play today but her next opponent is from Thailand, Tamarine Tanasugarn. Interesting! :D

Updates around the sporting world

Formula One

Jenson Button has once again clinched the vital victory at Monaco GP. Starting from pole, he had all his chances to seal the 10 points. Yet, again Brawn 1-2 with Rubens Barrichello coming 2nd.

Another torrid day for the McLarens. Lewis Hamilton, the defending champion finished 12th after starting from the back of the grid. Teammate Heikki Kovalainen had an accident which forced him to retire. Well, we need more consistency and power to win! Where's the spirit, boys?!

Lewis Hamilton from the pits at Monaco GP.

English Premier League

It's the end of the 2008/09 season. Manchester United capped a wonderful ending by Darron Gibson scoring a wonderful goal. Spectacular! Hope to see him next season as regular. The end it was 1-0 to United. However, Hull was lucky to survive the relegation battle despite losing to United. They were lucky as Newcastle and Middlesborough were the unlucky sides who lost their crucial last day match, which they badly needed 3 full points to survive. Darn unlucky! Goodbye Newcastle. From the wonderful years of Sir Bobby Robson's boys who had beaten Barcelona in the Champions League to the fall-out of the Newcastle owner, Mike Ashley, it seems all good things must come to an end. Big names clearout is expected and Championship football for a year then.

Till death do them apart from the Premier League

Roland Garros 2009 - Day 1 (24/5/2009)

No big names were playing on Day 1. Apart from that, only Andy Murray and Ana Ivanovic were the notable ones who are playing. Both got off with a good start by winning impressively.

Andy Murray beat Juan Ignacio Chela 6-2, 6-2, 6-1

Anna Ivanovic beat Sara Errani 7-6, 6-3

That's all for the update for the weekend!

Roland Garros 2009

Roland Garros 2009 is back in Paris. Will Nadal go on to win again? Will Federer be ending his barren run here? The only Grand Slam eluded from his glorious career and 1 more to match the great Pete Sampras. A week ago, Federer reduces the odd to win against Nadal on clay by beating Nadal at the Madrid Masters (Clay court). Does this mean Nadal is going weaker? (I hope so) Anyways, Federer is my bet to clinch the Roland Garros this year!

Federer in action!

Nadal with his forceful forehand return!

Great rivalries between 2 great champions!

The Roland Garros starts on the 24th of May till the Final on the 7th of June 2009. Looking forward to the finals.

Anyways, Ana Ivanovic is hot!

One down, 3 more to go

Hooray! one off the shoulder and 3 more to go. Today's paper wasn't smooth sailing but decent. Not excellent but decent. I will be shooting myself at my feet for not going through at some parts of the module which could make a lot of difference.

*Pray Pray* Oh dear god, bless me! 1% Luck 99% Perspiration

I meant what I said.

here we go!

Books are really flying!

Approximately 12 more hours to my first paper and I am here still blogging. I can't believe it has finally arrive. Am I suppose to be happy or sad? Mixed feelings as I am not totally confident of getting distinction and I am happy because it is already starting.

Books are really terrible and exams are worst.

Wish everyone best of luck and I hope for n times of LUCK!

18 and counting

did I just smell a sour vinegar-like smell around? Liverpool's fat Spanish waiter is on the rant again. Bla bla bla bla.. Reluctantly congratulating United for the famous 18th title overall in the English league history. He's not conceding defeat, that's good! But not good enough as long he's talking more crap. Gerrard was saying that this was the first time he felt the heat of title race (after a long time) What a loser! Go home! Oh where? Merseyside? Where? No one heard that before!

Old Trafford is where it belong to!

Federer v. Nadal - Madrid Masters

Federer vs. Nadal

Showdown of the top 2 players in the world. Yesterday, Nadal hard-fought to win the match against Djokovic. Thrilling match which lasted for more than 4 hours. Sad for Djokovic but it was an undeserving win for Nadal. Home ground (Madrid though he's born in Majorca). Anyways, clay king vs the great Federer today, would it be Federer's shot to kill off Nadal's clay streak?

Federer a.k.a. FedEx

Nadal

Nadal has been playing and 3 consecutive titles in the bag. HE is no doubt tired. But his physical fitness is awesome. Shots after shots, he's like beyond god like. Today, I hope for Federer's greatness to surpress the clay champion of the world!

Champione Champione Champione Ole Ole Ole

Yes, we did it again! 3 consecutive premier league title! Congratulation to the team for the wonderful season though they have been ups and downs in the season. Great job but Tevez is LEAVING as he seemed to wave to the loyal supporters in the ground as he was substituted out before the whistle.

ANYWAYS, LIVERPOOL! ARE YOU WATCHING? TOO BAD!!!!!! YOU SHITES! TALK SO MUCH S*** AND YOU ARE REALLY S***!!!

The Premier League trophy with the team

Fergie with his 11th title and United's 18th

Liverpool, you are really crap!

Are you looking over from Merseyside? Lol.

First stop, 21st May - Variable Speed Drives. Then, 26th May - Control Systems II. Thirdly, 3rd June - Sensors and Instrumentation and FINALLY, on the 9th June - Tools and Techniques for Enterprise. WOOOOOHOOOO!!!

Another thing which is coming to an end, the English Premier League and the Champions League. Usual suspect, Manchester United is on course to retaining both titles in coming weeks.

Look, who's going to Rome!

OOh yeah! Well done, United! Bravo for making it thru to the Finals in Rome again, but not against Chelsea (last year) but Barcelona (nemesis of the last year's semi-final). Gave Arsenal a thrashing of 3-0 ( 4-0 on aggregate). Look who's coming Pep!

Anyways, I will be going to Rome as well as my 1st destination after exams. The list of places is virtually (maybe realistically) infinite. Sorry to all readers for not updating much.

Jailed for assignments, final year project, and EXAMS! The sentence was harsh but forgiven.

Knowing that time really flies if you don't appreciate every single second, I was able to carve out some time for tennis over the last week (not this week). Decided to make a deal with my dad for a new racket (for me Birthday) Hehe.. At last, I have got one through the web. (Milletsports.co.uk). View below for the full snapshot of the racket. Wilson K Factor KPro Open Racquets

Pretty much of what I have done the last few weeks. Revised deadlines as follows:
1)Viva Voce (Project Presentation) - 8 May 2009
2) Final year project report - 14 May 2009

I need the luck, all the perseverance I had put in should be included into the equation!! (Hopeful)
